Dawn is breaking across America this morning. Its first rays of light are waking us from our long national nightmare. Last night, the Blue Wave swept over the Red that has come to signify the blood of desperation, destruction, and death these past two years.
It’s not over yet though. There are 2½ months till the new Congress is sworn in, and 2 years until the Mad King departs. Maybe less if we travel the path of impeachment, trial, and conviction.
Now is the time to stand together. Bad things will continue to happen, but by taking back both the House and the Senate we now have the Constitutional tools necessary to limit the terror of the Mad King’s reign.
Unity is paramount. We make America great again by remembering who we really are - a people with big hearts and open arms. Welcome your neighbors even if they’re still enthralled by the Mad King. It will take love, acceptance, tolerance, and inclusiveness to break his foul spell. We must listen to the better angels of our nature.
And above all, have hope. The sun is rising slowly, but by high noon we will once again have our shining city upon a hill.
P.S. On a personal note, I want to congratulate my friend Darcy Castro for winning her very first political campaign ever! She is the perfect example of a citizen who sees the need for change and stepped into the void to fight the good fight with integrity. Darcy Castro is Senator-Elect for Georgia State Senate District 37! Our family spent last night with her campaign, celebrating her victory and the Blue Wave that swept America into its New Beginning.
